Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Are the charters suitable for children and the elderly?

Yes. All ages are welcome.

What water activities are available?

We provide all the gear so you can enjoy your day swimming, relaxing on the aqua mat, floating with a pool noodle, and stand-up paddleboarding.

What do I need to pack?

We recommend that you bring what you would take to the beach. Hat, towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimmers, walking shoes, jacket, and change of clothes if you are going on an island cruise.

For afternoons, we advise you may need a jacket in case it gets cool as the sun sets while we are out on the water.

Will we see any marine life?

Every cruise is a unique experience and with marine life there is no guarantee of sightings.
Moreton Bay is known for a variety of wildlife from seabirds, turtles, dugongs and the ever friendly dolphin.

Are decorations allowed?
You are more than welcome to bring decorations for your private charter. Just a friendly reminder—balloons are off-limits since they can block the skipper’s view and aren’t the best for the environment.
Do you have life jackets?
Yes, the boat is fully equipped with all the necessary safety gear, including emergency life jackets for everyone. These life jackets are for emergency use only and are not intended to be worn during the cruise.

If you have young children or non-swimmers in your group, you can purchase suitable life jackets for the trip from stores like Anaconda or BCF.

Do people get seasick?
We prioritise your comfort and safety by avoiding outings in adverse weather, which significantly reduces the likelihood of seasickness. Our catamaran is designed for stability, sits close to the water to minimise rocking, and allows for excellent air circulation.
Is there a dress code?
Comfortable clothing is recommended. Please note that black, hard-soled shoes and high heels are not allowed, as they can damage the boat. You may also be asked to remove your shoes before boarding, so we suggest wearing footwear that is easy to take off.
How does self-catering work on a boat?

Bringing your own food? Perfect! Here’s how to keep things easy, breezy, and cruise-ready:

Bring what you love

Think simple snacks, platters, and easy nibbles — anything you can pop down and enjoy without fuss.

Keep it simple

Easy-to-handle food works best.
We’ve got limited fridge space, so plan ahead and pack smart.
We also provide complimentary plates, napkins, and serving utensils — too easy.

Have everything prepared

You’re here to relax, not prep! The last thing you want is to spend your cruise chopping and sorting food.
Bring it ready to go so you can settle in and enjoy the moment you step onboard.

No cooking onboard

For safety reasons, there’s no heating or cooking at sea — chilled, ready-to-eat bites are the way to go.

What do I need to know about BYO drinks?

Can I bring my own drinks?

Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own drinks onboard.

Is there somewhere to keep drinks cold?

Yes. We have a 100L shared esky onboard to keep drinks chilled.
Please bring 2-3 bags of ice.

Can I bring my own esky?

Hard eskies and large coolers aren’t permitted, but small cooler bags are perfectly fine.

What drinks are allowed?

You may bring premix drinks, beer, cider, bubbles and white wine.
Straight spirits and red wine are not allowed.

Should I bring water?

Yes. Please bring plenty of water and non-alcoholic drinks to stay hydrated throughout the cruise.

Are glasses provided?

We have a few glasses onboard, but no-pour drinks make things simple and easy.

How much can I bring?

Keep it light. Space onboard is limited and lighter packing keeps the cruise comfortable for everyone.

Are there rules around drinking?

RSA applies. Our crew is here to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. Following crew guidance ensures smooth sailing and keeps everyone safe.

Location

Where are you located?

Based on the Redland’s Coast, we are conveniently situated just 30km from Brisbane and the airport. The Gold Coast is 75km away, and the Sunshine Coast is 130km. To board the vessel for your cruise, you’ll meet us at the Public Jetty in Raby Bay Harbour, situated close to the Cleveland Train Station.

Where is the best place to park?

Guests are advised not to park within the Raby Bay Harbour Side Restaurant precinct, as vehicles have previously been towed at the owner’s expense. Dream On Cruises accepts no responsibility or liability for any parking decisions made by passengers.

Free street parking is available in the surrounding area; however, guests must carefully observe all posted signage and any applicable local restrictions.

Recommended streets include Shore Street West, Bowspirit Parade, and Masthead Drive, Cleveland.

How many passengers can be on the boat?

Dream On accommodates up to 20 Passengers

Weather

What happens when the weather is not suitable?
Weather plays an imperative part in boating and our crew are continually checking the reports and taking into consideration many differing factors, such as the cruise location, wind strength and direction, tides and currents, and any predictions of rain or storms by monitoring different weather information networks. As the weather can change from day to day and even by the hour so that on a rare occasion, postponement could be just before boarding or during the commencement of a cruise. So it is advised that you always have your phone with you and be prepared for any last minute changes.
When and how will I be notified about the weather?

While we don’t like to postpone, we prefer that you have the best possible experience. If the skipper believes that the conditions will be uncomfortable or unsafe, a team member will contact you as soon as possible via the mobile and email details you provided at the time of booking.
